You are Seen by God

“You are the God who sees me.” Gen 16:3

You may have lost sight of God, but he never loses sight of you.  Even when he feels distant and difficult to find, you are on his mind.  There are seasons of life when circumstances feel too overwhelming to see or hear God clearly, but that does not mean that he has abandoned you.  Deuteronomy 31:8 says “he will never leave you or forsake you.”

Psalm 139 tells us that he knows our every move, our every thought, and our every word before we even speak it.  Nothing can separate us from his presence!  We can trust that we are constantly covered by his loving and protective gaze at all times, even when we have lost sight of him.  Just as a loving and attentive parent keeps their eye on their child as their child wanders and explores, God is watching out for you!

You may feel like you have drifted from God, perhaps due to your own choice or lack of intentionality in your relationship with Him.  But he promises to draw near to us when we draw near to him (James 4:8).  Jeremiah 29:13 states that those who seek Him will find Him.  All you must do is turn your eyes to him, and he promises to be found by you!

Sometimes our past experiences and traumas have given us skewed perceptions that have caused us to form inaccurate beliefs about God. If you believe he has abandoned you or are removed from his love, ask yourself when and why you started believing this. Learning God’s truth and aligning with the truth of Scripture is imperative to break negative cycles and step into the fullness of who he created you to be.
